  • INTRO
La Petite Gare is a French-inspired bistro café located opposite a local railway station, serving classic French cuisine with a contemporary twist. Inspired by the owners' travels throughout France, the ambition was to create a destination that felt authentic, welcoming and full of character.

    THE CHALLENGE
The success of hospitality brands often depends on creating an experience that people remember and want to return to. For La Petite Gare, the challenge was to develop a distinctive identity that captured the charm and romance of French café culture while helping the business stand apart in a competitive local market.

The brand needed to communicate authenticity and quality while creating an immediate emotional connection with customers.

    THE SOLUTION
We developed a brand identity inspired by the atmosphere, heritage and character of traditional French cafés and bistros. The visual system was designed to evoke a sense of familiarity and nostalgia, helping customers feel transported from the moment they encountered the brand.

From the identity and typography through to the colour palette and customer touchpoints, every element was carefully considered to create a cohesive and memorable experience. The result was a distinctive brand that reflected the owner's vision and established La Petite Gare as a unique destination within the local hospitality scene.

Tiled signage like this one on the Paris Metro inspired the stencil typeface I created along with the blue and white colour palette.

In searching for the right typographic voice, I utilised the interesting font combinations and composition of vintage French signage and typography.
